| Research Interests: | Our group is dedicated to translational research in the field of cardiovascular immunology and neighbouring disciplines. Life scientists in biochemistry, cell-, and molecular biology supported by veterinarians and micro-surgeons cover the bench-side, whereas a number of medical specialists in nephrology and cardiology as well as in transplant medicine contribute to the bed-side and accomplish the comprehensive work concept. Beside the international cooperations, we take advantage of the scientific environment in Berlin which is ideal for extensive interactions with basic science institutes, such as the Max-Delbrück-Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC), the Berlin-Brandenburg-Center for Regenerative Therapies, the Deutsche Herzzentrum Berlin (DHZB), and the Deutsches Rheumaforschungszentrum (DRFZ). The close exchange with specialists and the access to the best technical equipment provides the optimal prerequisite for a broad range of topics. |
